RIDGEFIELD, WA— Defending EPLWA Champions Vancouver Victory FC made their regular season debut at Ridgefield Stadium on Saturday May 20 with a resounding 8-2 win over the Spokane Shadow. Vancouver is now 2-0-0 on the young season.

The Victory dominated the match from start to finish, but it was still 0-0 until right before the halftime whistle. That’s when Jordan Moss got V2FC on the scoreboard and sent them to the locker room up by a 1-0 margin.

The second half was a completely different story. Vancouver began connecting on their chances and the score quickly got out of hand for the visitors. It was 5-0 before the Shadow could manage a counter-attack goal. Then it was 8-1 before some wild back and forth led to the Shadow’s only other goal.

In the meantime the Victory were pushing back the nets with goals from Alexander Shackley (2), Javier Sanchez-Figueroa, Andrew Boyd, Chase Boone and Nate Cheney. Spokane added to their own misery with an own goal as well.

The Victory have some more time off until they get back to Evergreen Premier League action on Saturday June 3 when they visit annual rivals WP South Sound at 3:30 PM at the Washington Premier FC Fields Complex in Puyallup.
