v2fc-full-color-crest-croppedVANCOUVER, WA- The Vancouver Victory (V2FC.com) and the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISLnews.com) announce today that the Southwest Washington club will join the statewide men’s elite amateur indoor soccer league for the 2015-16 season.

“We are very excited to announce that we will be putting an indoor team into the WISL this November,” says Victory owner and founder Barrett Goddard. “This is the next logical step in providing more high-level soccer opportunities for Southwest Washington.”

The Western Indoor Soccer League recently concluded a successful first season with five clubs that saw thrilling action and large crowds. The league is in competition from November through February, allowing players and supporters to go inside for their soccer during the winter. The WISL follows a traditional indoor format of six players per side on a field with hockey boards and turf.

WISL Commissioner and co-founder John Crouch says “We are very excited to add the Vancouver Victory to the WISL for it’s second season. We know Barrett and his group from the EPLWA side and know their organization to be very well run. I believe they will bring a very high level of play to the field and also are building a great fan base that will certainly be excited to support them year round with the addition of the WISL team.”

“I have known and worked with John Crouch in the EPLWA and I am impressed with his team and organization on and off the field,” adds Goddard. “His first year running the WISL was very successful and we are excited to be part of that for our players, coaches and our fans.”

The Victory are concentrating on a second-season run outdoors, but also planning for their debut this fall in the WISL. “We have already started to put the pieces in place for a venue and a coaching staff. We have several players that are interested in playing for the Victory this upcoming indoor season.”

The WISL debuted in 2014 with five clubs in Washington state: Arlington Aviators, Bellingham United, Oly Town Artesians, Tacoma Stars and Wenatchee Fire. The Tacoma Stars claimed the first-ever WISL title with a 6-2 win over Bellingham United in February.
