Tough loss to NW Elite sees women move to 1-1 in the Cascadia Premier League
Vancouver, Washington: The Vancouver Victory Women’s team suffered their first loss of the season as they fell 5-0 against NW Elite. They now sit in second place in the Hood Division of the Cascadia Premier League as they prepare for back-to-back road games against OVF Alliance and NW Elite.
The Victory did all that they could to stay in the game after a hard-fought first half, but they weren’t able to find a way through the opposition’s defense after 90 minutes. Head Coach Maddy Wright had this to say following the defeat: “I was disappointed in us in the rst 45 minutes of the game, but I’m proud of our response and attention to details in the second half. I’m looking forward to playing them again later on in the season now having learned some lessons.”
The Victory will get plenty of chances to enact their revenge against their opponents from Oregon, as they will match up against NW Elite two more times over the course of the season. Despite the Victory’s record now 1-1 in league play, they will still have a chance to make the playoffs at the end of the regular season and potentially play against teams from other divisions across the Cascadia Premier League.
The Victory are back on the road next Saturday, June 3rd, as they head down to Albany, Oregon to take on OVF Alliance.
