Josh WestermannThe Vancouver Victory are honored to announce Josh Westermann as coach of its Women’s team for the 2020 season. Coach Westermann is the women’s head coach at Warner Pacific University and is excited about competing in the Northwest Premier League this summer.

Coach Westermann had this to say about his appointment “Overwhelmed and humbled by this opportunity. A special thanks to Sean Janson and the Vancouver Victory for bringing me on board. Looking forward to offering a great experience to many aspiring and current college players at this high level”.

Westermann brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Victory. He recently coached in the USL 2, leading San Diego Zest FC to their first US Open Cup and USL 2 playoffs in history. He also spent time as an assistant coach with the Kenyan Women’s National Team, helping the team qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations. Westermann has won numerous championships at the club, high school, college and ODP levels.

Prior to Warner Pacific he was at San Diego Christian College. Westermann spent five years head coaching the Hawks men’s and women’s teams. During this time both programs experienced multiple winning seasons, championship runs, national top 25 rankings, and many individual awards. Westermann is the all-time leader in wins in both program’s history.

Westermann had a stellar college soccer career at Gonzaga University and Yavapai College. Upon graduating from Gonzaga, He went on to play professionally throughout the United States and Africa. Westermann earned a B.Ed. in Sports Management from Gonzaga in 2006. He also earned a M.S. in Athletic Administration from Liberty University in 2013. He holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma (Distinguished Pass), Advanced National Diploma, USSF National C License, and a USYS Youth License.

Comprised of current, former, and aspiring college players, the Victory Women represent the highest level of soccer available in SW Washington to female players. The team competes in the NW Premier League and appeared in the championship match in both 2017 & 2018 winning the championship in 2017. The season runs from April through July and trainings are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at Harmony Sports Complex.

Trainings will be 3-5pm Tuesdays & Thursdays, Open Tryouts on April 17th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Harmony Sports Complex Turf Field. Players are asked to pre-register: REGISTER HERE.
