The Vancouver Victory are excited to announce the addition of the Northern Alliance Men’s team to the club. The Northern Alliance play in the Timbers Army FC, a network of official Timbers Army teams that play in the Portland Metro area. The Northern Alliance will now be officially known as the Vancouver Victory Northern Alliance proudly representing the Victory badge and the Muchas Gracias logo across their chests.

In the fall of 2011 the boys of the Northern Alliance, the Washington subgroup of the Timbers Army, who already had the love of the beautiful game running through their veins, got Northern Alliance Team Picturetogether and decided they wanted a team of their own. Wanting to start slowly, they formed two squads, Northern Alliance FC and Wrongsiders FC, and joined an indoor soccer league. These squads merged into an outdoor side, Northern Alliance FC, under the Timbers Army FC banner, and look to wreak havoc on all who stand in their way. Vancouver Victory Northern Alliance Manager, Matt Freeland, commented, “Representing the Victory and Northern Alliance in the TAFC is an honor. We look forward to supporting the Victory and Washington Timbers as this amazing organization continues to develop and support the amazing soccer culture in Southwest Washington.”

As founding members of the Evergreen Premier League (EPLWA), the Vancouver Victory men’s team has represented the highest level of play available in SW Washington since 2014. The team has various alumni competing in professional leagues throughout the country and is routinely comprised of current, future, and former college players. The Victory won the EPLWA Championship in 2016 and is looking forward the 2020 season beginning this May.

The partnership between the Northern Alliance and #V2FC was largely a result of Northern Alliance players being involved with the Washington Timbers FC either as coaches or as parents of players within the club. Washington Timbers FC Executive Director and Vancouver Victory General Manager Sean Janson had this to say about the relationship “Having played for the Northern Alliance in the past and currently coaching some of the players’ kids, I have a personal relationship with the team. We share common values and it was an obvious benefit to soccer in SW Washington for us to join forces.”
