Vancouver 3-1 Yakima UTD
There is V2FC news to get you caught up with today. Last Saturday the Victory won their EPLWA home match against Yakima United FC 3-1 at Harmony Sports Complex. Vancouver is now 6-0-1 halfway through the 2016 season, leading the league with 19 points. Antonio Porecco, Alex Segovia and Jesse Martin got goals for V2FC.
“Our players continue to find ways to get results,” says Head Coach Aaron Lewis. “With that said, I believe what’s exciting is recognizing there are a lot of areas these guys can still improve on heading into the second half. I see their hunger to develop in trainings, and if that mentality continues, we have a chance at having a special year.”
Rubio Rubin
The club recent said goodbye to Rubio Rubin (Beaverton), a member of the US National Team that had been training with the club and attending home matches. Rubio also went up to Seattle with Head Coach Aaron Lewis and GM Barrett Goddard to watch the Copa America match between USA and Ecuador.
Interns
V2FC Business Manager Ben Culpan recently posted job openings for interns who are looking for sports-related business experience.
Two Matches
This weekend the Victory play twice. On Friday June 24 they host a friendly (scrimmage) with Temecula FC of the NPSL at 8 AM (in the morning!) at Harmony Sports Complex. Then the club hosts an Evergreen Premier League match against Wenatchee United at 5 PM on Sunday June 26 at Harmony. Tickets to Sunday’s match are just $5 at the gate.
