Jerson Mejia on the indoor pitch for Vancouver Victory FC.

VANCOUVER, WA— Jesus and Jerson Mejia are far away from each other right now, but both are excelling on the soccer pitch and shining a spotlight on V2FC.

Jerson is currently the leading scorer for Vancouver in the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) with four goals. While he battles indoors in the Northwest his brother Jesus is down in Honduras trying to catch on with club El Progreso. Both men have played a part in the birth and success of the Victory. Jerson played in V2FC’s first-ever Evergreen Premier League match back in 2014.

Jesus has been looking for soccer opportunities outside of the US. The Mejia brothers are from Portland, but their family is originally from Honduras. So Jesus is there with dreams of sticking around.

“We are very excited for Jesus and his family for him to have an opportunity to play in Honduras,” says Victory owner Barrett Goddard. “He and his brother Jerson have been part of our program from the first tryout. Jesus works very hard in training and strives to get better.  This is a great opportunity for him.”
