Vancouver Victory FC is known around the Evergreen Premier League for their consistent play – and their one-of-a-kind Columbia Blue and Carbon Black kits.
This Sunday night July 17, 2016 at Harmony Sports Complex at 6 PM against the Olympic Force ($5 tickets available at the gate) the club will debut their first third / alternate jersey as a tribute to main sponsor Muchias Gracias Mexican Food. Look out world – here comes Victory YELLOW!
“We are super excited to unveil our third alternative jersey!” says V2FC General Manager Barrett Goddard. “The jersey was designed in ‘Muchas Gracias Yellow‘ to honor our primary sponsor Muchas Gracias Mexican Food. They are in the style of our other Victory jerseys with the Victory Ship and Finish Line Checkers. Proudly displayed on the sleeves are the American flag and EPLWA logo. The jersey was designed by Nathan Goddard with a few tweaks from the ‘inner sanctum’.”
The gorgeous new jerseys will be available in limited quantities for fans to purchase for $60 at the match. The club will also be giving one away to one lucky fan!
It’s quite a process to go from idea to final shirt, but designer Nathan Goddard thinks it was all worth it. “Coming up with the jersey design was a fun process. We discussed some general ideas and I actually developed 7-8 different jerseys and presented them all to the (Goddard) family. This design was the overwhelming favorite. We showed it to the Muchas Gracias people and they loved it! Vizari did a fantastic job on getting them produced on time and on budget. It will be fun to see them on the pitch this Sunday.”
The Victory have worn Vizari kits all three seasons in the Evergreen Premier League. Read about the original and still worn home / away kits here.
As for the Yellow alternate, Barrett Goddard likes the way they turned out, too. “Nathan is a gifted computer guy who has excellent artistic vision for our design concepts. We have received numerous inquiries about our tickets, online ads, posters and other graphic artwork. It rivals any sport team artwork anywhere. Top notch stuff. We are very fortunate to have him on board.”
