After taking a year off due to Covid, both Victory teams returned to league play in 2021 with the women capturing their 2nd NW Premier League (NWPL) title (2017) with an impressive 5-1-0 overall record.
Last year’s success earned the Victory Women a clean sweep of NWPL postseason awards with Maddie Goss (Clark College/Warner Pacific) earning Player of the Year honors, Josh Westermann Coach of the Year (Warner Pacific), Paige German and Maddie Goss (Clark College/Warner Pacific) Golden Boot, and Makenna McClellan (Warner Pacific) and Chantal Reyes (Swarthmore) Golden Gloves.
Heading into 2022 season the Victory teams will be sporting new jerseys showcasing our new sponsor JNB Mechanical. The jerseys look great and we’re proud to support JNB, a locally owned Heating and Air Conditioning Company.
The team will not only look good but likely play good as well. We’re happy to announce that coaches Josh Westermann and Maddy Wright (Clark College) will both return to lead the team towards a repeat NWPL title. Coach Wright had this to say about the upcoming season, “I am excited and proud to return coaching at Vancouver Victory FC for another season. I’m looking forward to working closely with this exceptionally talented group of players. It’s an exciting opportunity to lead the team into what will be another competitive NWPL season; I want us to grow and achieve success together and in addition to that to give the fans in the community a team they can continue to be proud of.”
Coach Westermann is also excited about the upcoming season, “There is a lot of excitement building about this upcoming season from the players, coaching staff, and community. We are ready to defend our NWPL title from last season. We look forward to not only competing at a very high level, but also having a blast along the way. The practices and games are designed to prepare you to be at your best for your college seasons”.
